Can I purchase an Orbitkey after the Kickstarter campaign?

We would like to make Orbitkey available on-line after the kickstarter campaign but we can’t tell you when it will be available. Our priority is to look after our backers here on kickstarter and make sure their orders are fulfilled as soon as possible. If you wanna be one of the first to get your hands on Orbitkey, it’s safer to pre-order it here on Kickstarter.

Will my key fit the Orbitkey?

As a general rule of thumb, as long as the hole on your key is greater than 5mm and the length is shorter than 60mm (from the hole to the end of the key) it will fit on the Orbitkey. This rule also applies to keys where the holes are irregular in shape (e.g. square, triangular).

For anything that doesn’t fit on the Orbitkey, they can be attached to the optional attachment which comes free with every Orbitkey (please see illustrator above)

Can the Orbitkey accommodate for store cards?

The Orbitkey can certainly accommodate for store cards, but a lot of it will depend on the shape of the store card and where the hole on the card is located, it works best when the hole is in the centre and the width of the card is not too wide. Anything that doesn’t fit on the Orbitkey, can be incorporated with the optional attachment made for bulkier items.

What if I have a key with hole less than 5mm?

There are a couple of options to carry keys with diameter of less than 5mm, it’s illustrated in the link below: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24131125/4mm%20hole_trick.jpg

The trick is to strategically place your 4mm hole key to avoid the 5mm Shaft. This however means you need to have a few other keys/ USB key/ Bottle opener to fill up the 5mm shaft space as shown.

If you only carry 2-3 keys, there is an option of drilling the hole into a bigger hole (we’ve personally done this before but of course it requires the extra effort). As a last resort, you can always utilize the optional attachment for anything that doesn’t fit.

What does "BAND ONLY" in the $34, $43 and $49 rewards mean?

We wanted to provide everyone with a variety of different bands in different styles and materials to choose from. The “BAND ONLY” rewards are for those people that wanted to pledge for a spare band (without the locking mechanism) so they can change from one style to another.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
